Yesterday, on Signal Mtn. in Groton State Forest there were small groups of
hermit thrushes active and small groups of mixed warblers (difficult to
identify) feeding very actively at low elevations. Chickadees and
red-breasted nuthatches were active in the spruce/fir/birch forest at
higher elevations. No surprise there. Groups of robins seen in yards
in Topsham and Corinth. A pair of Canada geese landed on Noyes Pond. The
resident loons were not seen.

I would like to see every single soldier on every single side, just take
off your helmet, unbuckle your kit, lay down your rifle, and set down at
the side of some shady lane, & say nope, I ain't gonna kill nobody. Plenty
of rich folks wants to fight. Give them the guns. - *Woody Guthrie, 1939*
