Hard to believe that a week ago was the first day of the festival. I’m so
glad I went. I learned much, was highly entertained, and went on some very
nice field trips.
It was said that there were 30 states represented. I met people from Utah,
Idaho, Pennsylvania , New York, Texas, Mississippi, and so on.
Many thanks to the local birders who volunteered to work at the festival.
Next year I hope to see more Arkansans there. I know there were only 500
passes available, so you had to hop on it quick. But it was so worth it.
Oaklawn and Hot Springs put this on. They did a great job pulling in the
speakers. I mean…Ted Floyd? How did they pull off that one? Badgerland
Birding learned how to call the Hogs. Samuel Henderson was a delight. He’s
the young man that performs bird calls.
Here’s to the next festival.🥂
