Observers: Joe Meloney, Steve Rannels

Visitors:
A couple from Florida made the trek to the mountain on the advice of
someone at Middlecreek. They were given the story of our hawkwatch and
efforts to provide count data to HMANA. They were involved in raptor
research by monitoring Bald Eagles in their home state. Believe they were
impressed by our work and hawk watch.

Weather:
Partial to total cloud cover all day with temps in the high 50's to near
80. Winds variable throughout the day with speeds starting in the single
digits but reaching into the mid 20's till afternoon. Rain not an issue.

Raptor Observations:
Nine species were seen today with a trifecta of falcons. A spectacular show
by an afternoon Peregrine was the highlight of the day. The day started out
rather slowly but at mid day Sharp-shinned numbers began to improve and
made up more than half of the days count.

Non-raptor Observations:

Predictions:
May be a better chance of some rain tomorrow but some forecasts say not.
Warmer temps are being suggested with light and variable winds.
