Subject: [ia-bird] Banded Ibis at South end of Bays Branch, Guthrie County
There are at least 10 Glossy/White-faced Ibis on the South end of Bays
Branch in Guthrie County. One of them is banded as shown in the attached
picture but to far away to read. They were along the weedline of the East
shoreline working in and out of the weeds.
Pintail are the main duck species numbering in the 100's.
There are a lot of shorebirds including Stilt Sandpiper, American Pipet,
Short and Long-billed Dowitcher - mostly Long-billed, Lesser and Greater
Yellowlegs and more. Bays Branch is still very low on water.
On the B-level road that will be mud tomorrow there were 20 Pine Siskin
feeding on small sunflowers right next to the road.
