Yesterday my wife and I visited the Channel Islands; my novice eyes didn't notice any new species ( lots of cormorants, some grebes and gulls ) but one stuck out as something I've not encountered.
My best Sibley Birds of the West guess is that it's a "Shearwater"
I exposed it a bit hot so I'm not getting a good sense of additional markers but I'm wondering if anyone here can make a definitive ID ?
