Subject: [Tweeters] Please submit a public comment re Westport proposed golf course
Hello Tweets, comment period closes 5pm 10/15 so quick action is key. I copied this from a Skagit Audubon post. Thanks!

AUDUBON WASHINGTON ACTION ALERT! - PROTECT WESTPORT LIGHT STATE PARK FROM GOLF COURSE DEVELOPMENT - PUBLIC COMMENTS DUE BY 5 PM ON OCT. 15th - Westport Light State Park needs your help.

The park is home to a rare and critical wetland system that supports at least 170 bird species and is the site of a proposed development to turn it into a golf course. Beyond the direct and immediate threat to birds from this proposal, developing this state park would set a risky precedent that our public and conserved lands can be developed at the expense of wildlife, habitat, and other ecosystem functions.

Take action by telling the Parks Commission to vote NO on the Westport Golf Links development proposal. The public comment period closes on Oct. 15th at 5 p.m. For information on the proposed project, visit: https://parks.wa.gov/about/strategic-planning-projects-public-input/projects/westport-light-state-park-planning.

Submit your public comment here (select Westport Golf Links from the dropdown menu for the Oct. 19th meeting): https://parks.wa.gov/commission-public-comment-form.
