We very, very conservatively counted 12,000 Black-vented Shearwaters at Wilder Ranch today in 2hrs. 100 per min. It was more realistically 150-400/min. All headed northwest and not far from shore. Only a hundred or so rafting. No specific frenzy going on. Question - are these birds circulating around the bay or are they headed somewhere?
