Official Counter: Kate McKay

Observers: Chuck Carlson, Matt Tarr, Mike Gebo, Nathan French,
Tom Momeyer

Visitors:
326 visitors from near and far, including Denmark. Hello to Colin and Jess!

Weather:
Partly cloudy at first, with fog low in the valley, but then the fog rose
up and socked us in for a couple hours. Afterwards it was mostly cloudy,
becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Temps started at 46 and increased
to 57 degrees. Winds from the northwest.

Raptor Observations:
The birds started moving in earnest as soon as the fog cleared away around
11:45am. There was a nice showing of Merlins, Ospreys, and harriers today.
One Merlin snagged a Monarch but promptly released it unharmed. The last
bird of the day was a beautiful adult sharpie taking a close look at Gina.

Non-raptor Observations:
Nearly fifty ravens played in the wind above North Pack. A Ruby-crowned
Kinglet hopped about in the trees nearby, and several insects enjoyed the
warm weather including a friendly katydid, a distant dragonfly, and two
Monarchs.

Monarchs: 2/843

Predictions:
Rain showers tomorrow.
