While Denise and I unfortunately can't house them, I hope someone can as they are a true treasure. Bill's programs were wonderful and well-attended as many other long-time members can attest. He kindly presented on various bird taxonomic groups about once a year. Scott (Program Chair)

Hi all,While on the HMBC board, I agreed to go through a large donation of 8mm movies that were taken by William Gorman, a member of the club primarily in the 1970's and 1980's when he was on club trips or travelling alone. He used some of these movies to give presentations to our club up until the early 2000's. I have a complete list of the locations of the movies which include Alaska, Hawaii, California, Colorado, Florida and Europe. There are also movies on specific groups of birds such as shorebirds, hummingbirds, owls, etc. William is deceased and these movies were given to the club from his family at some unknown point.
I'd really like to keep these movies out of the landfill but have not been able to find a repository for them. I can recycle the metal film containers but I'm not sure what to do with the film.
We've tried to locate a historical society that might take them and I have contacted the NYState Museum in Albany as well as The Macaulay Library of Cornell but so far no takers. Right now these films are stored in my basement since our club has no physical home and I want to get rid of them.
Please let me know if you are interested in housing these movies. Otherwise I will sadly have to dump them.
Thank you in advance,
