Hi OKBIRDS,
Very dull birding this afternoon, Saturday, 10 October, was brightened by a late YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO at Martin Park Nature Center in n. OKC. This is my latest-ever for the area by far and among the latest-ever occurrences for the region.
Other late landbird migrants this morning at Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown OKC were Least Flycatcher, 3 Wilson’s Warblers, and upwards of 3 Indigo Buntings in the prairie garden area.
At East Spit of Lake Hefner, the presumed continuing basic adult Laughing Gull, CALIFORNIA GULL and one Common Tern are still present among the growing numbers of Franklin’s and Ring-billed Gulls.
