- Comments: "Continuing, photos. It has grayish-brown plumage, a white belly, and a very prominent white eyebrow. It is also smaller than the Marbled Godwit. I’m so happy to see this rare shorebird here, especially because it is a species more commonly found in Asia, including my hometown in China. Seeing it here makes the encounter feel even more special!"

- Comments: "Continuing at Coal Oil Point. This observation was just east of the point with one Bar-tailed associated with 20+ Marbled. Observed both working the surf and foraging in the sand close to the cliff. Bar-tailed is the lighter, smaller bird with the strong white eyebrow. Some photos include nearby Marbled for comparison."

- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.8783064&<ll...>,-119.8783064 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S400678053 - Comments: "Continuing bird, extremely confiding on the beach just to the east of the point (<a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/2Vd1uqkd8YBajCKj6">34.4073616, -119.8776610</a>), closely associating with the flock of ~30 Marbled Godwits. In comparison to the MAGOs this was a slightly smaller and more compact bird, lacking any of the peachy tones typical of that species. The distinct white supercilium was the easiest way to pick the bird out, but the shorter, thicker legs, rather streaky upper parts, white underwings barred with gray, and barred tail also differed from the MAGOs. Many, many photos of the bird, which was in view for the duration of my observation, at times down to <3m from me."

- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.8783064&<ll...>,-119.8783064 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S400619214 - Comments: "Continuing rarity at this location with a flock of about 25 marbled godwit. Viewed from the cliff directly below the point on the east side. About 12:30 PM. Seen from above, it appeared slightly lighter with a few more obvious white frosty patches. But the most definite field mark that set it apart from the marbled was its face pattern, much lighter with a bright white eyebrow. Although the marbled were a little variable in plumage, none showed this face pattern and were overall much buffier in color. As this is a lifer for me, I have no experience otherwise, but it would seem that this is an adult in non-breeding plumage, or better yet a juvenile with that much strong patterning on the back?"

First seen in flight in a group of 15+ Marbled Godwits; the Bar-tailed was smaller with lighter coloration and no cinnamon color. The difference was easy to identify with the birds in flight. The Godwits were feeding on the shore immediately to the east of COP."
