Giving characteristic explosive “spink!” or “chink!” notes with a ringing, metallic, emphatic quality. Unlike any local species (perhaps most comparable to White-crowned Sparrow but cleaner, sharper, and more incisive in quality) and heard well by both observers who are very familiar with this species.
