Bake Oven Knob 2 miles North of Germansville, Pennsylvania, USA Daily Raptor Counts: Oct 09, 2026 -------------------------------------------------------------------
Observation start time: 07:30:00 Observation end time: 17:00:00 Total observation time: 9.5 hours
Official Counter: Andre Vu
Observers: Guitar Dave , Joe Farkas, Lizzie Sgambelluri, Tim Williams
Visitors: 13 visitors today, a relatively busy day for the north lookout, and mostly all young people - I asked, and apparently it is senior skip day. Good for them. Had a great time today being joined in the afternoon by Tim Williams, Joe Farkis, Lizzie Sgambelluri, and Guitar Dave.
Weather: 58-70 degrees, WNW with gusts up to 22 mph, clear skies getting partly cloudy in the evening.
After a very slow morning, a "sharpie party" in the evening was lots of fun! Some good looks at all three falcon species throughout the day too.
Non-raptor Observations: Black-throated blue, lots of yellow rumps, a blackpoll, and a phoebe that stuck around all day. Big numbers of blue jays continue to migrate.
Predictions: Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Lehigh Gap Nature Center (<mail...>) Bake Oven Knob information may be found at: www.lgnc.org
