Please take a moment TODAY, before midnight, to SUBMIT A PUBLIC COMMENT on the Atlantic Menhaden issue, a fish essential to the livelihood of the osprey. Please make sure enough will be left in the sea for them to thrive.
The Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission will soon determine their fate.
Go to: https://asmfc.org/actions/atlantic-menhaden-draft-addendum-ii/ And click "submit a public comment."
It will only take two minutes.
The National Audubon Society is recommending to answer questions 5-12 as:
5. Option B4: 50% reduction of the Bay Cap resulting in 25,500 MT cap
6. Option C1E: 13.6%
7. Option C2A: Upper limit: 51,000 mt and lower limit: None
8. Option B2: Even Length & Uneven Harvest
9. Leave blank
10. Leave blank
11. Option B: Revisit Provision. The Chesapeake Bay Cap will be revisited every three years following implementation of this draft addendum.
12. Leave blank—or share more of your thoughts with the Commission
So please find two minutes before midnight today to speak up for the ospreys. We all love them.
