Weather: Blue skies and calm winds to start. The winds became a moderate WNW for most of the day and it became partly cloudy for the afternoon. Quite warm and pleasant with a high in the mid-70s.
Raptor Observations: Surprisingly slow given the conditions and results from other recent days. The flight took a while to get going. A light flow of Turkey Vultures throughout the day but otherwise low numbers. Sharp-shinned Hawks were next most numerous with only five. Four kestrels. A few nice looks including some adult Bald Eagles chasing each other and a very low adult Red-shouldered Hawk at the end of the day.
Non-raptor Observations: Non-raptor activity was lower today as well.
Predictions: TOMORROW: Generally sunny with a few afternoon clouds. High 74F. Winds WNW at 5-10mph. Overall similar to today except with slightly weaker winds. Should be a pleasant day to be out. Expect light to moderate migration.
SATURDAY: Intervals of clouds and sun. High 72F. Winds NE shifting SE at 5-10mph. Favorable winds for the morning. Expect moderate migration.
SUNDAY: Cloudy with periods of rain. High 63F. Winds E at 10-20mph. Chance of rain 100%.
