The 20th Annual Pondicherry Big Sit Birding Event is this Saturday 10 October 2026 at the Tudor Richard Platform at Cherry Pond in Jefferson. The event runs from sunrise to sunset where we count all the bird species seen or heard from the platform. We will keep two lists, one for just the Big Sit area and a second list for the rest of the Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson and Whitefield for World Migratory Bird Day that coincides with the Big Sit. The platform is a 1.5 mile walk or bicycle ride in from the trailhead at 289 Airport Road in Whitefield. The Autumn foliage is still spectacular.
