I was out sailing at Shoreline today, and the birds were having a wonderful day: the water was simply sparking with fingerling fish, with huge swarms of fish at the boat launch and near the shore by the boats. Brown Pelicans, a few American White Pelicans, Double-Crested Cormorants, Forster's Terns--were all on patrol in the area (or, resting).
Most notable to me--an Osprey flew over, making loops around the lake. I rarely see Osprey here so I was delighted (the people I tried to point it out to--didn't care.)
Good birding,Ann
