Hello All,
I wanted to share the sad news that Tex Sordahl passed away yesterday. Tex
was the one that got me back into birding as an undergrad at Luther and set
me on the path to where I am today. I was honored to write his "Meet an
Iowa Birder" article in Iowa Bird Life
<http:///https://iowabirds.org/Library/Journals/2010-2019%20Vol.%2080-89/2012-Vol%2082/IBL-82-4.pdf> and that same issue featured the results of his long-term study on bird
arrival dates in northeast Iowa.
His health had been failing for some time but his former student Karla
Bloem was able to get him out birding at Lake Meyer in Winneshiek County
last month.
