In keeping with "Mountains in the City", we had a small flock (9) of "Ponderosa" (aka Type 2) RED CROSSBILLs in their namesake trees while walking the dogs today (Weds, 7 Oct'26) up at Huston Park (SW Denver, Denver Co.); did get a good recording which I'll attach to an eBird list when I get to the task. In addition, had a single CASSIN'S FINCH and our continuing MOUNTAIN CHICKADEEs at the house, but no repeat Evening Grosbeak.yet. What's next, Ptarmigan? Keep your ears and eyes open as the mountain wave continues.
Good Birding,
Doug
