Crested Caracara sighting at Salisbury Beach Reservation Today Tue, 6 Oct 2026 22:16:30 -0400 Allen Mireles <allen...>
... I thought you might be interested in our sighting. I have reported this to eBird.
Today at 10:26 AM, we saw a Crested Caracara in the Salisbury Beach Reservation. We watched it hunt, then swoop down into the salt marsh and return with something in its beak. It flew into a tree nearby, and I got a photograph, which I have attached to this email. (massird doesn't allow images)
I wasn't able to get the white markings on the wings and tail, but we saw them when it was flying around us. looks like it caught a mouse or rat.
Thought you would appreciate knowing.
Allen
