Subject: [cobirds] Mts in the City (Take 2) - Cassin's Finch in SW Denver
Stepped out back (Athmar Park neighborhood, SW Denver Co.) after the Broncos
game this afternoon (Sun. 4 Oct'26) to get some fresh air and had a nice
male CASSIN'S FINCH pop up from our neighbor's feeder into our yard in a
continuation of mountain species down here in the plains. It stuck around
for the rest of the day fairly conspicuously calling and perching in the
tops of the surrounding trees. We have three feeding stations in the
immediate area, so will see if he stays.unlike the female Evening Grosbeak I
posted about a couple of days ago; if you are interested in chasing, please
let me know separately. As mentioned previously, we are off to an
interesting season for our mountain species at lower elevations.

Good Mtn Birding,

Doug
