Saturday's trip to the outer cape with, at the start, 17 participants had a very good day. I had mentioned to the participants I had over 100 species on one day at this time of year on the outer cape. I also thought the current day's weather conditions would make it possible to have to achieve that goal. With 17 participants and 9/10 vehicles it would be another obstacle to overcome since some places, and time, would not allow us to visit some places.
Well, with all the eyes and ears and circumstances we did indeed achieve the goal with 101 species, unofficially. Such days, no one person achieves the total and I personally had 96 species with 5 more others noted to me which I did not see/hear.
That is 101 species for the area (minimally); Chatham to Provincetown.
