Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Cemetery Ovenbird, Acorn Woodpecker, etc
Sunday morning at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, in the very warm early morning Santa Ana offshore wind temperatures, the Ovenbird found yesterday by Jason in the northwest corner was prancing around in the open in the grass in front of the eucalyptus trees very early in the morning. A wayward Acorn Woodpecker was in the southwest corner, now about the 3rd or 4th Acorn seen out here this fall. A Hammond's flycatcher was in the Southeast corner and a Vermilion flycatcher was in the Northeast corner.

Matt's brief Evening Grosbeak is the first for the coast this fall, but probably not the last! Following in the footsteps now already of several coastal Cassins Finches.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
