Nora Hanke, Tom Warren, Van Zimmer, with many more...

Visitors:
353. Lots of folks enjoying the beautiful fall colors. Thanks to David,
Brian and Pat, and many others for spotting birds with us.

Weather:
Blue skies and sunshine with light wind from the N/NW. Temps ranging from
44 to 56 degrees. Visibility all the way to Mt. Washington.

Raptor Observations:
Excellent early October day with twelve different species on the move. Lots
of sharpies today, along with a few broad-wings and a handful of falcons. A
couple Merlins posed for pictures on the spruces near the hawkwatch at the
end of the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
Nice mix of other birds too, including flocks of Canada Geese, a late
Chimney Swift, two late Tree Swallows, a flyby Yellow-bellied Sapsucker,
and twenty Yellow-rumped Warblers. A few Monarchs on the wing.

Monarchs: 4/819
Blue Jays: 30/259

Predictions:
Cloudier tomorrow with winds shifting between the east and south. Probably
less birds than today but there should still be some flying.
