Observation start time: 09:15:00 Observation end time: 15:30:00 Total
observation time: 6.25 hours

Official Counter: Craig Jackson

Observers: Bill Shapiro, Darren Josey, David Bliss

Visitors:
David Bliss came to observe with me for the first time. Darren Josey came
up with his mom from Florida and observed for over an hour, and Bill
Shapiro brought his brother-in-law and also observed for a short time

Weather:
Winds were moderate (2-3) mostly from the SW throughout the day with gusts
up to 15 km/hr. The predicted shift to NW for early in the afternoon did
not start until late in the afternoon, such that when I left the winds were
variable from SW-NW with the strongest gusts being 21 km/hr from the
west. Cloud cover began with light cirrus clouds covering much of the sky.
gradually showing more blue, before again becoming more dense. Temperature
- day was very warm, beginning at 20C and warming to 25C

Raptor Observations:
small movement of raptors; Numerous non-migrating RT Hawks seen (5+)

Non-raptor Observations:
three Ravens were typical; more unusual were the nine Chimney Swifts seen
toward the end of the day, but by far the most unusual sightings were of a
Katydid and a Praying Mantis on the Rock.

Predictions:
Moderate NNW winds are predicted for most of tomorrow. While not the best
winds for this site, it is hoped that they will bring some migrants
