Weather: Sunny with an extensive layer of thin clouds. Light to moderate southwest winds. Very warm with temps reaching the mid-80s. Thickening clouds late in the day ahead of approaching storms and a cold front.
Raptor Observations: A slow day overall. Small groups of Turkey Vultures throughout the day for 27 total. American Kestrels were next most numerous with six, including a group of five in the early morning. One Osprey landed in a tree near the creek for a bit before continuing on. One late day Northern Harrier made a close pass. A handful of Accips. A few Buteos, but no broad-wings.
Non-raptor Observations: Common Nighthawk, 2 Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, Double-crested Cormorant, Common Raven, Brown Creeper, Northern Mockingbird, 2 Lincoln's Sparrows, Swamp Sparrow, American Redstart, Cape May Warbler, Norther Parula, Pine Warbler, 2 Black-throated Green Warblers, 2 Scarlet Tanagers, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, 2 Indigo Buntings, 20 monarchs. https://ebird.org/checklist/S398407627
