Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Red-throated Pipit - Torrey Hills Park
Did a quick lap around Torrey Hills Park yesterday around 4:00pm. Saw 3 pipits in the grass on the baseball fields ( 32°55'06.43"N 117°13'21.16"W) and didn’t think much of them until I was looking at the pictures today and noticed the bold, extensive streaking across the breast and sides as well as streaking on the crown. It also had a well-defined pale supercilium. I reached out to Paul L. who agreed that these features point to red-throated rather than American. Could be worth checking out.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://sandiegofieldornithologists.org/san-diego-county-avian-records-database/.
