It was eating the birdseed I put on our patio wall, along with 10 Mourning Doves. I sent a photo to Merlin, and they said it was a White-winged Dove. We are located in Santa Barbara, CA."

Not the greatest photos, but we (the island jay crew) are pretty sure they weren’t a huge flock of Island scrub jays making PIJA calls."

Gray black uppers, white underparts, orange yellow patches on sides of tail, chest and wings. Flitting around with tail fanned and wings open a bit."
