10 AM flew north to powerline serving a house off the road. Perhaps it had been there when I biked by at 9.
Have seen 3 Shrikes in last month, 1 of three was here; none, for example in usual spots north of Enfield, west side of Justice Branch Road, nor most reliable spot east of Darlington substation. We will see how (expected) low the population locally will be, next summer. Shame I could not rake in money using a betting app—how low will shrikes go(?!).
BTW, in winter, with snow on ground, a red fox sunned itself last winter on south side of 20' hill, east of the substation, almost exactly where shrikes have been evident for decades.

I do not have time for e-mail. Nor, I think, do you. Try calling 252-308-3443---good luck with that.
