Yesterday was a rain day. The Ranch needed rain. Today was a nice day to be outside. As you would expect not a whole lot of diversity but still a surprise of a Yellow-breasted Chat. Birders spotted a White-winged Dove hanging around the barn/corral area and a Broad-winged Hawk in the Olive grove. *25 New Banded Birds* Wilson's Warbler- 5 Ruby-crowned Kinglet- 8 Hermit Thrush- 8 American Goldfinch- 1 Lincoln's Sparrow- 1 Yellow-breasted Chat- 1 American Robin- 1
Tomorrow is the last day or banding and birding on the ranch for the year. Hoping for a good bird day. Please register online to visit the ranch tomorrow at www.aikenaudubon.com
Many thanks to all the volunteers who made this season a success! Thanks also to the birders who shared their knowledge of Colorado Birds.
Have a good day,
Julie Shieldcastle, Bander Chico Basin Ranch Bird Conservancy of the Rockies
