As I arrived home above the Tahuya River NE of Tahuya, a group of 7 Turkey Vultures were headed SW toward Tahuya. Migration is still on. Hopefully more will be seen over the next couple weeks.
A neighbor in the other end of our subdivision has a family of 8 Mountain Quail feeding in her driveway yesterday afternoon.
We have an adult buck with a large piece of chicken wire fencing stuck on one of his antlers. He's able to feed, forage, and follow the does around so we're leaving him alone. And the other deer are nice enough to not laugh out loud when they see this guy sporting the latest head dressing.
