Least Flycatcher (Empidonax minimus) (1)
- Reported Sep 30, 2026 07:00 by Peter Schneekloth
- Dangermond Preserve (restricted access, parent hotspot), Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.4560999&<ll...>,-120.4560999 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S397871864 - Media: 2 Photos, 1 Audio
- Comments: "Initially detected by its 'whit' call, but we were unsure whether it was just a Willow or not. Eventually we obtained very good looks when the bird flew out of the willows and fed in a weedy field. An obvious empid with a relatively small bill that was at least mostly orange below. The upperparts were a uniform grayish olive with very black wings and contrasting white wingbars. There was a narrow pale eyering, not as thick as on a Western Flycatcher. The throat and underside were whitish with a olive wash on the breast sides. Primary projection beyond the tertials was fairly short to medium."

- Comments: "In the Ceanothus-dominated section about halfway down the trail to the spring. Feeding at low levels and flushed up into lower part of conifer."
Pinyon Jay (Gymnorhinus cyanocephalus) (45)
- Reported Sep 29, 2026 10:23 by Kyleigh Miklos
- Santa Cruz Island--TNC Cabins, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.73428&<ll...>,-119.73428 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S397838347 - Comments: "Took longer to summon than the CLNU, but a flock of 45-60 flew right over. Not the greatest photos, but we (the island jay crew) are pretty sure they weren’t a huge flock of Island scrub jays making PIJA calls."
Clark's Nutcracker (Nucifraga columbiana) (20)
- Reported Sep 30, 2026 07:48 by Bradley Hacker 🦜
- Mission Pine Trail: San Rafael Mtn To Mission Pine Spring Camp, Santa Barbara, California

- Comments: "Distributed throughout the forest—grubbing on the ground and gleaning chiefly from Pinus lambertiana cones—and flying randomly above the forest; actual number of birds uncertain, but 20 is likely an undercount"
Evening Grosbeak (Hesperiphona vespertina) (8)
- Reported Sep 28, 2026 07:45 by Steve Colwell
- La Cumbre Peak, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.7147721&<ll...>,-119.7147721 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S397277574 - Comments: "Heard flock approaching from the East with twee call then they flew directly overhead -- too fast for a pic. Size looked good and Saul was able to clearly see yellow bodies with white sections on the wings while the rest of us dipped with binos and cameras."
Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula) (1)
- Reported Sep 30, 2026 07:00 by Peter Schneekloth
