It's hard to believe that October is upon us, and the Community Garden Harvest contest starts today...!!
And good news for birders in southeastern Connecticut: A new garden has been added to the hotspot list, thanks to Joe Attwater of the Connecticut Audubon Society. It is the Coogan Farm Nature and Heritage Center in Mystic. Here's a link to the hotspot in eBird: https://ebird.org/hotspot/L2176245/bird-list?yr=cur&m=10&rank=lrec
It looks like a really nice spot, and it doesn't get too many visits from birders, so it will be interesting to see what Joe and others will find there!
Whether you get out today or sometime later in the month, don't forget to use the eBird hotspot and find as many birds as you can.
Let the harvest begin!

Record your birds in eBird, using the hotspot so the birds can be tallied. At the end of each week in October, I will post the number of species found.

Birds must be accepted by our eBird reviewers to count. Follow all local rules, regulations and the ABA code of ethics, as always.
