Around 8 am this morning, a nice mixed treetop flock appeared out of the foggy dankness. They stayed quite awhile, but still ID was difficult as they moved around quickly in the dull light. 5 warblers included Black-throated Green, Bay-breasted, B&W, Nashville plus American Redstart. Also picked out a Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, yellow Scarlet Tanager, Blue-headed Vireo and 3 Red-eyed Vireos that eBird said was a high count for this date.
Lots of flickers lately, still saw 2 Rose-breasted Grosbeaks (im. or female plumage) and 5 Ruby-throated hummingbirds that are guarding the feeders and enjoying the red sage flowers.
Red Crossbills are still active here. 15 appeared out of the fog while I was following the flock around the yard.
Gloomy weather is holding some nice bird activity.
