Empid ID is best left to the experts so a little education for the masses would be useful.
I looked at Jasmine's and Shirley's pictures yesterday of the Least Flycatcher.
I note Jasmine suggested in her ebird writeup there could have been two birds.
Well Jasmine's picture (look at the eyeing and sonogram and bill and head shape) seem potentially consistent with a Dusky.
Shirley's shows no eye ring and a large bill and a medium width tail and a head shape all consistent with a Willow's.
Now perhaps this is really one bird and it is a Least but it is not obvious to me.
Can the experts explain why these birds are definitively a Least and not a Willow or Dusky or two different birds.
This would be helpful for future IDs of empids.
