Fluttering over lake just after dusk (6:55 to 7:06). Good views through binos. Possibly 2 - the other one was too far away but acting similarly to the one I saw."

It was very high and then took off E parallel to the mountains. Very distant looks but the shape was wrong for RTHA. No bulging secondaries. But had a short tail and relatively short wings like a RSHA and BWHA. RSHA was ruled out by lack of light crescent in wings. 9:50. Another with TUVUS. This time I was able to see the relatively pale undersides with dark wing tips and trailing edge to wing. No barring noted in tail faint terminal band on tail."

- Comments: "Continuing since 22 Sept 2026.
I first saw the bird around 7:30 foraging by itself in one of the two tall willow trees. An hour later at 8:30 it was closely associating with a Warbling Vireo in a pepper tree. A few minutes later it came down low to an elderberry at the edge of the road."

NW of lake above avocado groves. Faint blue and subtly different shape from American crow wirh longer thinner wings and quicker wingbeats."

Did not stop or pause. What caught my eye initially was the approach of a large gray bird. Gray head, breast, back. Prominent bill. Black wings with white edge."

Unmistakable shape and pattern, gray, black, and white, very short tail and strong black bill. One small flock of 15 or so perched in the conifers west of the tower and called to each other repeatedly."

Brown streaky females with strongly forked tail, males mostly unstreaked on the flanks, but with rosy head and breast and slightly peaked bright pink/red crown. Called occasionally when moving, “Chee-dlip”"
