…the third annual Community Garden Harvest contest!
This is a friendly competition to see which community garden hotspot has the most species for the month of October!
Just bird at your local community garden hotspot any time during the month of October (as often as you wish!) to see how many species you can find. Record your birds in eBird, using the hotspot so the birds can be tallied. At the end of each week in October, I will post the number of species found.
The list of community garden hotspots from last year is below; if your favorite community garden-containing hotspot is not on the list, please let me know ASAP.
Allen's Meadows won this competition in 2024 and 2025, so let's give them a run for their money this year! Will Bauer beat them?! Can Woodbridge win?! Or will another hotspot get some focused birding and unseat them all...?!
October is just a couple days away, so get ready to visit these beautiful places and find some great birds...it's fun and you never know what you might find...!

Fine print: You must use eBird and the hotspot to record your birds. The birds can be noted anywhere at your hotspot and do NOT need to be seen in the gardens themselves. Birds must be accepted by our eBird reviewers to count. Follow all local rules, regulations and the ABA code of ethics, as always.
