Today I stopped at a couple locations in Goleta, the first being the Mentor Drive parking lots where I had a minimum of 61 Pinyon Jays flying W/NW overhead. Migrant numbers in the tipus were relatively strong, though the best species I had was a Black-throated Gray Warbler.
I then visited Patterson Open Space, which yielded a male Northern Parula foraging mid-canopy in a tall sycamore on the east end, as well as 3 Broad-winged Hawks, which circled for a couple minutes before heading SE. A final stop at Tabano Hollow Open Space was largely unproductive.
