Weather: On and off rain due to nor'easter. Moderate to strong north winds with occasional stronger gusts. Low overcast cloud cover and reduced visibility.
Raptor Observations: Despite the poor conditions small numbers of raptors moved throughout the day taking advantage of the favorable wind. Turkey Vultures (11) and Sharp-shinned Hawk (7) were most numerous. Small numbers of other expected species including four Cooper's Hawks, three kestrels, and one Broad-winged Hawk. A high streaming Osprey in the afternoon was a nice highlight.
Predictions: TOMORROW: A steady morning rain then afternoon showers. High 62F. Winds NNW at 15-25mph. Chance of rain 100%. Count will likely be shortened or canceled.
MONDAY: Cloudy. High around 65F. Winds NNW at 5-10mph. A good wind direction, but if it stays too gloomy that could hold back the flight.
TUESDAY: Partly cloudy becoming cloudy. High 72F. Winds NW at 5-10mph. Another good wind direction, though quite weak.
