From about 10:30 - 11:00 this morning, this previously reported bird (thanks, Nick Lethaby!) was reasonably cooperative, foraging from eye level to mid-storey, mostly in vines, about 10-15m off the road at the first stream crossing along Refugio Road. Other birds present (in addition to the most common) were Black-and-white Warbler, Chestnut-backed Chickadee, and both Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers. Another eBirder may have gotten photos. The bird is distinguishable from Warbling Vireos by a yellower throat and undertail, a more strongly marked facial pattern, and a shorter bill.
