Hummers still present in Bloomfield Hills, however chimney swifts are noticeably absent. Our summer resident group of five is nowhere to be seen, nor the nightly swarms dropping in a neighborhood chimney.

The last Hummers hanging around here left about four days ago. The last Monarch to eclose here happened about the same time. I still have a few chrysalises but they’re “duds” by now and are never going to emerge.
