Observers:
Visitors: Susan Smith and Wendy Eismont from State College (Bird Club) visited and set for about 3 hours. They left without one countable raptor. They did get to see the non-migrating Adult Bald Eagle. Duane & Terry Harps from Altoona stopped and showed me an old black and white photo from the 1960's taken of him with family at the altar. A nice guy stopped and chatted. Forgot to get his name. All really nice people. Several site seers.
Weather: Cool breeze from the NNW & N all day. Clear blue skies. A hawk watchers' nightmare.
Raptor Observations: An adult golden eagle at 10:47. The only countable bird for the day. It came low from behind the last tree (oak) on the Big Valley side and circled 3 or 4 times about tower height and then flew right over me and went south down Furgeson Valley. What a sight it was. Sometimes I think the raptor gods send a special gift to you on an otherwise lousy day. Adult BE not counted as migrating. Local TV's and BV's.
Non-raptor Observations: Several Ravens. No Nemo unless he didn't announce his appearance. One bluejay.
