RE: Steller's Jays, might they be interior birds irrupting with the rest of the interior species we're seeing? We should be on the lookout for interior race birds. The frontalis and annectens subspecies differ in having a lighter blue on the back and underside and often blue extending up into the chest, grayer heads and backs and more extensive blue streaks on the forehead extending to the crown and in annectens white spots above the eye and whiter forehead streaks, among other subtle differences.
