Comparatively long wings for tiny body and head, with very short tails held tightly in a blunted point. Very bat-like flight. Possible pics to be added later. Flushed out of a resting flock of stormies."

This unusual sighting was confirmed by the Island Packer naturalist en route to Channel Islands National Park. The seas are very warm right now & they have been seeing this species."

- Comments: "At least two, possibly more by Whittier Pond by Mary Oliver Boardwalk. One was calling loudly from bushes on south side of the pond and photographed two on north side of the pond. Several Cassin's were nearby so unsure of total count for Tropical vs. Cassin's. Earlier there were several Cassin's mobbing crows by the parking lot. Call from Tropical distinctly different. Have multiple audio recordings + photos. Note yellow continuing up breast (instead of gray on Cassin's) and heavier beak than Cassin's."

- Comments: "Continuing; day 2 of 2, seen at upper Elings in the same general area when found 9/20. Actively foraging on the ground, almost constantly in motion walking slowly through sparsely vegetated areas with some bare dirt areas and dry grasses. Plumage coloration and pattern blended in perfectly with the surrounding habitat it preferred to hang out in. Most of the time only found when it was spotted on the move. Not seen the following day (9/22). Curtis M. and others present this evening were probably the last ones to see it."

- Comments: "continuing bird found by Ryan. bouncing between the ground and weeds. complete white eye ring, lacking streaks on breast. two throat stripes. tail seemed noticeably long and showed a distinct white undertail, which I haven’t noticed on others I’ve come across."

Again taking a liking bottlebrush, non native trees and now eucs. Poor but identifiable photos tba at some point."

I still wasn't going to put this but since I found a Tennessee warbler the next day it would make since from the pretty diagnostic photo. photo will be posted at some point. Better details about the bird on the 22nd and better photos."

- Comments: "Female, very active, gray uppers white breast, yellow sides, partial eyering. Caught a glimpse of the tail flash in a tree on the south side of road /west end of lake . Lots of construction on hwy 192 during day so lake is inaccessible until late afternoon."
