Yesterday (23 September), Jimmy McMorran messaged me from San Clemente Island to report he'd seen and heard a Pinyon Jay, and possibly a second. Later that afternoon, Nicole Desnoyers sent photos of a Clark's Nutcracker in the parking lot of the field station in Wilson Cove. Both species were previously unrecorded on San Clemente Island. Today (24 September), I got word of 3 Clark's Nutcrackers seen by Kevin Ryan on Catalina, at Haypress Reservoir. The Birds of California's Channel Islands <https://www.sbnaturestore.org/collections/museum-publications/products/birds-of-californias-channel-islands> lists this species as a rare fall transient and winter visitor.
