I saw a couple at Elings yesterday morning. When I started birding, I was about 8. It was almost the rule that white-crowned sparrows appeared on my birthday or a day before (Sept.13th). Over the years it has crept closer to the end of September. It is interesting to see things change like that. In Goleta at this time of the year back then we would see line after line of American robins migrating over, but you don't see that either.
