Today Edward Rooks and I led a combined SCVBA/OSA field trip to Sierra Vista OSP. We had good luck with both our target species, seeing two adult and two juvenile *golden eagles* and two *rock wrens*. But the highlight of the trip was probably a single male *phainopepla*. In all, we saw 36 species, including *horned lark* , *rufous-crowned sparrow* , *lark* *sparrow* , *California* *thrasher* , and *white-throated* and *Vaux's swifts* , and a single *tricolored blackbird*.
Do not disclose information that identifies the location of nesting birds of any species, to minimize stress on the nesting birds and the risk of vandalism or abuse.
