There was almost constant hummingbird activity here today, although the most I saw at one time was 5. They were using both feeders and flowers, making me glad that I managed to save the flowers when it was really hot and dry. The pineapple sage is beginning to bloom and I saw several visits to the the few blossoms that have already opened. Other good species seen in the yard included a phoebe, a male rose-breasted grosbeak, two Tennessee warblers, and a northern parkland warbler.
