Visitors: 15. One lady recognized me from her prior walks up the mountain. "Yes, I'm here hawk watching," I explained. "Hog watching?", she asked, incredulously. (Ooh boy....)
Weather: Partly cloudy skies with high thin clouds; a light to moderate NNE wind; cooler, 48 - 65 F.
Raptor Observations: Another good day for American Kestrel, 6 sets a new one-day high count. Today we were treated to a visit by "Reel-'em-in" Randy who found many distant raptors, many of which got away before they could be identified, leading to our high UR count for the day. Randy pulled in the day's only Norther Harrier too, but his real forte is customer relations with our visitors. He answers their questions, takes their photographs for them, and pats their dogs on the head. He was immediately promoted to Director, Alton Bay Division of Meet and Greet.
Non-raptor Observations: 10 Monarchs.
