Yesterday mid morning there was a NORTHERN PARULA with Yellow Warblers in the row of Metrosideros along Legion of Honor Dr. (it's 34th Ave. until crossing into Lincoln Park at Clement) across the street from the parking lot for the Golf Course.
At the "Calliope Tree" ( the blooming pink eucalyptus next to the teeing area for 10th hole) a TENNESSEE WARBLER found several days back by Joachim Gonzalez continued along with a getting late Rufous/Allen's Hummingbird.
A ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK was in the West Wash at the west edge of the 5th Hole.
Additional Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were found on Sunday 9/19 at the trailhead for Laguna Honda Canyon/Steep Ravine Trail across from the Reservoir and this morning Daniel Scali located another one around the Horseshoe Pits in East Golden Gate Park which a few minutes later flew down to McLaren Lodge.
Orange-crowned Warblers have been weird this fall. I've seen only a handful of the Pacific ssp. _lutescens_ and just about every one noted in the past few weeks has looked like a _sordida_ or "Gray-headed" , _celata/orestera_. If you are out birding with a camera and come across an Orange-crown please try to get some good photos so that maybe we can figure out what's going on.
